Porsche Color Theory

Explore color theory through the eyes of Porsche in this invite-only microsite.
Any Porsche enthusiast knows that this brand it's about more than a car, it's a way of thinking. To introduce the new Porsche 911 (997) to an exclusive group of Porsche buyers, this direct mail piece was created to help answer the only real question left: which color should I get? On launch day, 9,000 premium prospects received a direct mail piece which featured a solid metal plate embossed with a silhouette of the new model.
As the technical lead on this project, I led the technical architecture as well as the production of the project. Additionally, I coordinated with art directors, two other developers, and animator, and photo retouching artists to bring the project to life and live up to Porsche's exacting standards.

Recipients were invited to go online to visit a special microsite containing inside information on Porsche’s color palate for the new vehicle. They could log in with the special code they were given, and the experience knew who they were and who their local Porsche dealer was.

Users could also create a custom color for their Porsche, as a way to showcase Porsche’s custom color option.

The customer recieved 16×24 prints of their chosen colors.
